About Us
Where every scream is carefully edited.
The Final Girl Review was born from a single candle burning late into the night—just me, a blank screen, and the creeping feeling that there weren’t enough haunted spaces for truly chilling voices to be heard.
Founded by a one-person staff (that’s me—editor, designer, and occasional exorcist), this literary magazine specializes in horror fiction and poetry that rattles the bones and lingers like a ghost long after the lights go out. Inspired by a professor during my undergraduate English program—whose passion for the strange, the eerie, and the beautifully bleak awakened my own—I decided to summon a space where dark minds could gather and share their nightmares.
At The Final Girl Review, the coffins are always open for submissions. Whether it’s gothic lament, psychological unease, or poetic dread, I seek work that breathes (or un-breathes) new life into the horror genre. This publication may be a one-ghoul operation for now, but every shriek and stanza is handled with care—and a little blood, sweat, and screams.
If you’re looking for stories that claw their way under your skin, or poems that bite back—welcome. You’ve found your lair.
